About 500 indigent kids in Akwa Ibom have resumed school, sponsored by Unique Precious Care Foundation (UPCF) in our Back-to-School initiative of December 2024. Amongst these 500 were over 100 from orphanages in the State.

Before December 2024, Pst. (Mrs.) Florence Umana and members of the foundation, together with partners and compassionate supporters brought together children from the less-privileged population of Akwa Ibom families, and orphanages, to be treated to a Christmas party. To make the party worth having, we knew to take their worry for school resumption away as we danced.

Common Needs Met

The kids aged 2 to 12 were blessed with exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, lunch packs, and school bags. These are common needs of pupils that parents and caregivers have to worry over before schools resume.

The orphanages represented were Mother Charles Walker Children’s Home, Uyo; Motherless Babies Home, Mkpok Onna; and Holy Family Sisters of the Needy, Ikpe Ikot Nkon.
